Jira with AI: project issues and inbox tasks on one list

Tessa brings your Jira project’s issues into Tessera’s Tasks board, so the whole team sees what’s pending even if they never open Jira.

This connection is in beta: it works, but we are still testing it with real accounts.

Jira for some, email for everyone else

In many companies the tech team works in Jira and everyone else (sales, ops, leadership) never opens it. When someone wants a status update, they ask on Slack, and the answer depends on who replies.

Meanwhile, tasks born in email or a client meeting never reach Jira, and Jira issues never show up where everyone else looks. Two to-do lists that never meet.

How it works with Tessa

  1. 1

    Enter the project key

In Integrations, type the Jira project you want to connect (for example “WEB”) and click Connect.

  2. 2

    Authorise with Atlassian

Atlassian’s sign-in opens, you grant access and land back in Tessera. Credentials are stored encrypted and refresh automatically.

  3. 3

    Issues show up in Tasks

Tessa brings in the project’s issues with key, title, status and link. If the assignee’s email is visible in Jira, she links the issue to their Tessera user.

  4. 4

    They stay current

Changes arrive almost instantly when Jira’s webhook is active and, either way, Tessa re-checks the project every few minutes.

What you get

  • One view for the whole companySales or leadership see issue status without a Jira licence or training.
  • Tech next to commercialIssue “WEB-142” sits on the same list as “send quote to Kirai”, which Tessa picked up from email.
  • Simplified statusesJira workflows map to three clear states: to do, in progress and done.
  • One click to JiraEvery task links to its issue, so the detail stays where the tech team works.

Before you connect

The Jira Cloud integration is in beta: it’s built on Atlassian’s official API and tested with simulated data, but not yet with enough real accounts. To connect it, the Atlassian app also has to be enabled on Tessera’s side; if it shows as “Coming soon” in your account, it isn’t yet.

  • One project per connection; you can connect several.
  • Jira Cloud only. Self-hosted Jira isn’t supported.
  • Tessa doesn’t change statuses or delete issues in Jira.

What Tessa reads for each person stays private, your data is stored in the EU and nothing goes out without your approval.

Does it work with Jira Server or Data Center?

No. The integration uses the Jira Cloud API.

Is this an official Atlassian integration?

No. Tessera uses Atlassian’s public API with your authorisation. Jira is a trademark of Atlassian.
