An AI assistant for startups doing everything with a tiny team

Support, sales, product, investors and hiring with five people: Tessa reads email, Slack and meetings and tells you what can't wait.

"There are five of us and everyone wears three hats"

In a startup, the same person answers a customer who can't log in, chases a demo, replies to an investor and screens applicants. Email mixes it all together, Slack moves at full speed and product decisions get made on a call nobody writes down.

What slips through is expensive: the blocked customer who's been waiting two days and is about to churn, the deal that went cold because nobody followed up, the investor update written on Sunday night by reconstructing the month from memory.

How it works with Tessa

  1. 1

Connect the team's Google and Slack

With the "SaaS" template, Tessa treats outages, bugs blocking customers, renewals and investors as high priority, and repeated automated alerts as low.

  2. 2

    Customers in trouble, every morning

A routine lists the customers who wrote in with a problem and haven't had a reply. Each one already has a task and a draft.

  3. 3

A pipeline without CRM data entry

Sales without a CRM builds the pipeline from your email and meetings, flags deals going cold and suggests the next step. If you already use HubSpot or Pipedrive (beta), Tessa works with them.

  4. 4

    The update writes itself

On Fridays, a draft weekly update with what shipped and what's next; monthly, an investor update draft with revenue, MRR (with Stripe, beta), pipeline and key decisions.

What you get

  • Fewer customers churning quietlyUnanswered problems surface every morning, before they turn into a cancellation.
  • Product decisions on recordMinutes highlight decisions, blockers, customer commitments and dates, and the wiki keeps them with their source.
  • Investors in the loop, Sundays backA draft built on real data to review and send, not a blank page.
  • Hiring without drowningApplications summarised against the role, with sensitive details stripped, and interviews booked in one click. A person always decides.
  • New hires up to speed fastEvery new joiner gets who's who, key customers, processes and the tools to connect.

Routines in the "SaaS" template

Imported when you pick the industry, and editable:

  • "Every morning, summarise customers who wrote in with a problem and haven't had a reply."
  • "On Fridays, draft the weekly update with what we closed and what's coming."
  • One you could add: "If Stripe flags a failed payment from a large customer, tell me and draft an email."

The startup stack

The core runs on Google Workspace and Slack. Also available, in beta: Stripe for MRR, sign-ups, churn and failed payments; HubSpot and Pipedrive if you already have a CRM; and Linear, Jira, GitHub, Notion, Asana or ClickUp so tasks born in emails and meetings land where your product team works.

Privacy in a small team

In a startup everyone knows everyone, which makes it matter more: whatever Tessa reads in someone's inbox is visible only to them, and founders get no individual metrics on anyone. Data is stored encrypted in the EU, and anything going to customers or investors waits for approval.

What Tessa reads for each person stays private, your data is stored in the EU and nothing goes out without your approval.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a CRM to use Tessa for sales?

No. Tessa builds the pipeline from your email and meetings. If you already use HubSpot or Pipedrive, she can work with them (beta) instead of duplicating them.

Where does the investor update get MRR from?

From Stripe, if you connect it (beta). Without Stripe, the draft includes what Tessa knows about revenue, collections, pipeline and decisions, and you fill in the numbers.

Can she create Linear or Jira issues from a meeting?

Yes, if you connect Linear or Jira (beta). Action items from the minutes come with an owner and can be pushed to your tracker.

Is it free for startups?

The free plan covers up to 3 people with tasks from email, replies, follow-ups and search. Slack, meetings, sales and investor updates are on the Team plan, with a 14-day trial and no card.

Does Tessa send the investor update on her own?

No. She drafts it and you review and send it. Anything leaving the company needs your approval by default.

What does your team look like?

Same AI for both. Where you start is what changes.
