HubSpot with AI: a current CRM without hours of data entry

Tessa connects what happens in your email and meetings with your HubSpot contacts and deals, and tells you which one needs attention.

This connection is in beta: it works, but we are still testing it with real accounts.

A CRM is only as good as its updates

HubSpot is as useful as the data inside it. On small teams nobody has time to log every call and email, so the CRM drifts a few weeks behind reality.

You know the result: deals with a close date in the past that nobody touched, notes living in a salesperson’s inbox, and meetings where you’re unsure where the opportunity stands.

How it works with Tessa

  1. 1

Create a Private App in HubSpot

You connect with a private app token from your HubSpot account, scoped to contacts, deals and notes. The steps are in Integrations.

  2. 2

    Tessa reads contacts and deals

She can look up a contact, see their open deals and spot the ones at risk: close date passed or less than a week away.

  3. 3

    Client cards fill in

In Tessera’s Contacts, if the client’s email is in HubSpot, you see their record and open deals next to your email and meeting history.

  4. 4

Notes and deals, with your permission

Tessa can add a note to a contact or push a deal spotted in your email to HubSpot. By default, both wait for your approval.

What you get

  • Deals that don’t go coldAsk “which deals are at risk?” and Tessa lists the ones whose close date has passed or is looming.
  • Less typingA client meeting recap can become a note on their contact in one click.
  • From inbox to pipelineSales conversations Tessa spots in your email can be pushed to HubSpot once, with no duplicates.
  • Calls with the CRM at handOpen the client’s card in Tessera before the call and see which deals are open and at what stage.

Worth knowing before you connect

The integration uses HubSpot’s public API with a token only your company’s admins can see, stored encrypted. It isn’t a HubSpot marketplace app or an official integration. It’s in beta because it hasn’t been tested against enough real accounts yet; if you get a permissions error, the private app is usually missing a scope.

  • Reads contacts and open deals.
  • Writes notes on contacts and creates deals.
  • Doesn’t change stages or delete records.

What Tessa reads for each person stays private, your data is stored in the EU and nothing goes out without your approval.

Frequently asked questions

How do I connect HubSpot to Tessa?

In HubSpot, create a private app with read access to contacts and deals plus write access to deals and notes. Copy the token and paste it into Tessera’s Integrations.

Will Tessa write to HubSpot without permission?

No. Adding notes and creating deals require your approval by default. An admin can change that in the control panel.

What if I don’t use a CRM?

Tessa builds a sales pipeline from your email and meetings, no CRM needed. If you adopt HubSpot later, you can push those deals across.

Does it work with HubSpot’s free tier?

Private apps are available on HubSpot accounts. What can be read depends on the objects your account has.

Who sees HubSpot data inside Tessera?

It’s company data any member could ask Tessa for. What stays private is each person’s email, which nobody else sees.

What does your team look like?

Same AI for both. Where you start is what changes.
