Industries · Remote and hybrid teams
AI for digital companies working remote or hybrid
When the team doesn't share an office, or sometimes even a time zone, context has to be written down. Tessa writes it from Slack, email and meetings, and makes it easy to find.
"Where was this decided? I wasn't on that call"
In a remote or hybrid company, decisions get made on calls not everyone joins, in fast-moving Slack threads and in emails with half the company in cc. Whoever was on holiday, in another time zone or in the office that day finds out late, or not at all.
The usual fix is more sync meetings, and then the problem changes: whole days of video calls and little time to work. Async best practice (write decisions down, leave context) makes sense, but someone has to do it, and there's rarely time.
How it works with Tessa
- 1
Connect Google and Slack
Everyone connects their account in one click, wherever they are. Tessa starts reading the team's channels and, privately, each person's email and messages.
- 2
Meetings write themselves up
Tessa joins Meet (Zoom and Teams in beta), writes notes with decisions and tasks per owner, and sends the recap. Whoever couldn't attend reads it when their day starts.
- 3
Decisions go into the wiki
Decisions, processes and "how we do things here" come out of meetings and channels with their source. Content from a private channel is visible to its members only.
- 4
Ask Tessa instead of a colleague
"Why did we switch vendors?" or "what did we decide about the launch?": Tessa searches email, Slack, notes and documents and answers with sources.
What you get
- Context for whoever wasn't thereThe notes and recap say what was decided and what's on each person, without anyone repeating it.
- Decisions you can findWhat was decided six months ago has an answer with a source, even if the person who decided has left.
- Fewer sync meetingsWhen the status of each topic is written down, a lot of catch-up meetings stop being necessary.
- Nothing lost across time zonesWhat people asked while you slept is in your inbox in the morning, prioritised and with a suggested reply.
- Visibility without watching screensThe weekly pulse is per department: blockers, overdue work and risks. No online hours, no individual activity.
Example routines for async teams
Write them in your own words and Tessa runs them:
- "Every Friday, post this week's decisions in #general with a link to the source."
- "After every leadership meeting, post the recap and tasks in #leadership."
- "When someone comes back from holiday, brief them on what was decided while they were away."
Remote doesn't mean watched
Remote teams easily slide into measuring presence: green dots, hours online, response times. Tessa tracks work, not people. What she reads for each person is visible only to them, DMs between colleagues never go into company memory, and managers get no individual metrics. Data is stored encrypted in the EU.
Tools
The core runs on Google Workspace and Slack. In beta: Zoom and Teams for meetings, Microsoft 365 for people on Outlook and OneDrive, and Notion, Jira, Linear, Asana or ClickUp for tasks.
In a hybrid team, what matters is that everything flows through the same places: the video call, the channel and the inbox. That way people in the office and people at home get the same notes, the same tasks and the same recaps, instead of depending on what was said by the coffee machine.
What Tessa reads for each person stays private, your data is stored in the EU and nothing goes out without your approval.
Frequently asked questions
How does Tessa help with async work?
She writes what usually doesn't get written: meeting notes, decisions from channels and the status of open work. People on other schedules get the context without a call.
Does the wiki really write itself?
Tessa pulls decisions and processes from meetings and channels and stores them with their source. It is still worth having someone review it now and then, like any documentation.
Can my manager see how many hours I am online?
No. Tessa doesn't measure anyone's hours, presence or activity, and gives managers no individual metrics.
Does it work for teams across countries?
Yes. She works in English and Spanish and replies in the language you use. Data is stored in the EU.
What about private channels?
Anything from a private channel is visible only to its members, in the wiki and in search. DMs between people aren't used.
