Your investor update, with the numbers already in
Press a button and Tessa pulls invoicing and collections from Holded, metrics from Stripe, your sales pipeline and the decisions from your meetings into a draft ready for review. She never sends it.
The monthly update that's always late
Regular investor updates are one of the best habits a startup can have: they build trust and make it easier to get help when you need it. But every month it's the same chore: open the invoicing tool, export the metrics, count closed deals, remember what was decided and write it all up in the right tone.
So January's update goes out in mid-February, or not at all. And investors hear about problems when it's too late to help.
How it works with Tessa
- 1
Ask for the draft
From the Investors page (admins only), with one button. Add anything you want to share or ask for this month.
- 2
Tessa gathers the data
Invoiced, collected and overdue from Holded; MRR, new subscriptions, churn and failed payments from Stripe; deals won, new deals and open pipeline; team size; and decisions from meetings you attended.
- 3
She writes the update
With a clear structure: highlights, numbers, sales, decisions and asks. Emails and phone numbers are masked before reaching the AI model.
- 4
You review and send it
The draft lands in an unshared Google Doc in your Drive and in the app. Edit it and decide when and to whom it goes.
What you get
- Numbers without exportsWith Holded and Stripe connected, the figures land in the draft by themselves.
- Decisions don't get lostWhat was agreed in your meetings this month shows up in the summary.
- Always under your controlTessa never sends the update. It's a draft for you.
- No data about peopleThe only thing reported about the team is its size. Nothing about what any individual does.
- Works with gapsNo Stripe or no Holded? The draft uses what's available and clearly marks what's missing.
What a good update usually covers
There's no single right format, but most updates that get read follow a similar outline. It's the one Tessa uses by default, and our investor update guide goes into more detail:
- The month's headline, in two or three sentences.
- Key metrics: revenue, cash collected, MRR, new and churned customers.
- Sales: won, new and in negotiation.
- Decisions and lessons learned.
- Where investors can help.
Why a draft and not a finished email
Investors read between the lines. The numbers can be assembled automatically, but the narrative, what you're worried about and what you're asking for, should come from you. Tessa gets you to a solid first version in minutes so your time goes on the part only you can write.
What Tessa reads for each person stays private, your data is stored in the EU and nothing goes out without your approval.
Frequently asked questions
Does Tessa send the update to my investors?
No. She prepares a draft in your Drive and in the app, and it stays there until you decide to send it.
Do I need Holded and Stripe?
Not necessarily. With them connected (both integrations are in beta), the draft carries real figures. Without them, Tessa uses the pipeline, decisions and whatever you tell her.
Can it run automatically every month?
Today you generate it with a button whenever you need it, for example at the start of each month. That way you choose the timing and the emphasis.
Who can use it?
Only company admins, because it includes revenue and cash figures.
Which decisions are included?
Those from minutes of meetings you attended. Minutes belong to their participants, so meetings you weren't in aren't used.
What if we're out of credits?
Tessa still produces the draft using a template with the same sections and whatever figures are available. You'll write a bit more yourself, but you won't miss the update.
