If they go quiet, Tessa remembers for you
Send a quote, a proposal or a question and choose how many days to wait. If the deadline passes with no reply, Tessa drafts a polite nudge in the same thread, ready to go.
Deals rarely die from a “no”. They die from silence
You send a quote on Monday and hear nothing. Wednesday, still nothing. Thursday gets busy, and by the time you think of it again two weeks have passed. Often the client just forgot, and a timely nudge would have closed it.
The usual fixes are calendar alarms, starred emails or paying for a CRM just to get reminders. They all depend on you setting them up, and when they go off you still have to find the thread and write the message.
How it works with Tessa
- 1
Ask for it when you send
When replying from Tessera, pick “if no reply in N days”. Or just tell Tessa: “follow up on this email if they don't answer in 3 days”.
- 2
Tessa watches the thread
She checks your mailbox regularly. If the other person replies in that thread, the follow-up cancels itself.
- 3
She drafts the nudge
If the deadline passes without a reply, she writes a short, friendly message in the language of the conversation.
- 4
You send it in one click
The reminder shows up in your inbox like any other task. Review it and it goes out from your account, in the same thread.
What you get
- No alarms to setYou decide on the follow-up at the moment you send, without leaving your email.
- Cancels itselfIf they reply, you never hear about it. Only genuinely unanswered threads come back.
- Message already writtenYou don't start from scratch: the nudge arrives drafted and in the right thread.
- Never sent on its ownTessa drafts, you send. No reminder reaches a client without your click.
- Works for any emailQuotes, proposals, supplier requests, candidates or a question to your accountant.
When to set a follow-up
A good rule of thumb: if the email asks for a decision or information you need to move forward, give it a follow-up. For example, 3 days for a quote, 2 for a supplier question, 5 for a big proposal. If you sell, Tessa also spots deals that have stalled for days and suggests the next step from the Sales view.
What a good nudge sounds like
A follow-up shouldn't read like a complaint. Tessa writes short messages that remind the other person what the email was about, make it easy to answer and leave the door open, rather than a blunt “Did you see my email?”. Like any draft, you can edit it before sending, and over time it adapts to the way you write.
- “Hi Laura, just bringing Monday's quote back to the top of your inbox. If it works for you, we can lock it in this week.”
- “Did you get a chance to look at the proposal? Happy to walk through it on a quick 15-minute call.”
What Tessa reads for each person stays private, your data is stored in the EU and nothing goes out without your approval.
Frequently asked questions
How does Tessa know they replied?
She checks the thread in your own mailbox every few minutes. Any message after yours that isn't from you counts as a reply and cancels the follow-up.
Is the reminder sent automatically?
No. Tessa drafts it and leaves it in your inbox; it only goes out when you press Send. That way you can adjust the tone or decide not to send it.
Can I ask for a follow-up from Slack?
Yes. Message Tessa with something like “@Tessa follow up if they don't reply in 3 days” and she'll schedule it on the email you just sent.
Can it chase overdue invoices?
For invoices, a routine with Holded works best, for example “every Monday, remind clients with overdue invoices”. Thread follow-ups are for any specific email that's waiting on an answer.
Is it on the free plan?
Yes. Follow-ups are part of the Free plan, along with one-click replies.
