Your bank, connected: balances, transactions and reconciliation without spreadsheets

Connect your business accounts read-only and Tessa tells you which invoice each transfer pays, how much cash you have and which payment looks unusual.

This connection is in beta: it works, but we are still testing it with real accounts.

Reconciling by hand, once a month, in a rush

At many small businesses, reconciliation happens at month-end: download the statement, open the invoice list and match amounts one by one. If a client paid two invoices together or used an odd reference, it’s detective work.

Meanwhile nobody knows for sure what’s been paid, so you chase invoices that were settled and forget the ones that weren’t.

How it works with Tessa

  1. 1

    Pick your bank

An admin chooses the bank in Finance. The connection runs through a PSD2-regulated account information provider (GoCardless Bank Account Data).

  2. 2

Grant access on your bank’s site

You sign in to your bank as usual and authorise read access to balances and transactions for 90 days. Tessera never sees your banking credentials.

  3. 3

    Tessa matches transactions and invoices

She looks for the same amount, a date on or after the invoice, and the invoice number or client name in the reference. Each transfer and invoice is used only once.

  4. 4

    Confirm in one click

“This transfer from ACME looks like invoice F2026-031. Mark it as paid?” Once you confirm, it’s recorded in Holded.

What you get

  • Read-onlyThe PSD2 consent you give is for viewing: Tessera can’t make payments or transfers.
  • Admins onlyBalances, transactions and bank alerts are visible only to the company’s admins.
  • Useful alertsOverdue invoices with no matching transfer, and payments far larger than usual, flagged once.
  • Cash in the weekly briefThe weekly pulse covers balance, money in and out over the week, and payments still to reconcile.
  • Payroll kept aggregatePayments to people in the company are grouped into one line and never analysed per person.

Privacy and limits

The AI model only sees aggregates: balances with masked IBANs, totals and the largest counterparties. Transactions are stored encrypted in the EU for up to 13 months, and disconnecting a bank revokes consent and deletes its data.

  • The bank list currently covers Spain only.
  • Banks cap daily reads: Tessa refreshes at most once every 20 hours, or when you click Refresh.
  • Consent expires after 90 days; Tessa reminds you a week ahead to renew it.
  • In beta: not yet tested enough with real accounts.

What Tessa reads for each person stays private, your data is stored in the EU and nothing goes out without your approval.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to connect my bank to Tessera?

The connection uses the European PSD2 standard through an authorised provider. You sign in on your bank’s own site, grant read-only consent, and Tessera never sees your credentials or moves money.

Which banks are supported?

Spanish banks available through the PSD2 access provider. When connecting, you pick yours from the list.

Do I need Holded for reconciliation?

To match transfers with invoices and mark them paid, yes. Without Holded you still get balances, transactions and unusual-payment alerts.

How often are transactions updated?

Automatically at most once every 20 hours, because banks limit reads. An admin can force a refresh once an hour.

Who can see banking data?

Only the company’s owners and admins, both in the app and in what Tessa answers.

What does your team look like?

Same AI for both. Where you start is what changes.
