The more you use her, the more she writes like you
Tessa learns from your edits: how you open, how you sign off, how long you write and which senders are urgent for you. You can see what she's learned and delete it whenever you like.
AI writing sounds like AI
The first draft from almost any AI assistant is fine but generic: too long, too formal, or full of phrases you'd never use. If you have to rewrite every reply, the time saved disappears.
Priorities have the same problem. To a generic tool every client weighs the same. To you, an email from your co-founder or your biggest client is always urgent, and the office supplies vendor almost never is.
How it works with Tessa
- 1
You edit as usual
Tweak a draft before sending, change a priority or dismiss an item you don't care about.
- 2
Tessa compares
She keeps the difference between what she suggested and what you sent, plus how you reordered your inbox.
- 3
She writes style notes
After a few edits she updates short notes on your writing: tone, greeting, sign-off, length, language.
- 4
She applies them next time
Upcoming drafts and priorities reflect what she's learned. You can review it under “What Tessa did”.
What you get
- Drafts that need fewer editsEach correction cuts down what you'll have to change in the next draft.
- Priorities that fit youSenders and domains you answer quickly move up; the ones you dismiss move down.
- TransparentYou can read the style notes Tessa has written about you.
- You're in controlA “Learn from my edits” switch and a “Forget what you learned” button that wipes it all at once.
- Yours aloneWhat Tessa learns from you is used for your drafts only. No one else at the company sees it.
What she learns, and what she doesn't
Style notes capture form only: whether you're formal or casual, how you open and close, whether you keep it short, whether you use emoji, which language you reply in. They don't store client data. The sample snippets attached to the notes are anonymized first: no emails, phone numbers, links or figures.
For priorities, Tessa adjusts a weight per sender and per domain, capped so one correction doesn't swing everything. For free email domains (gmail.com, outlook.com and so on) she learns per sender only, so she doesn't lump together everyone who uses that provider.
An example
Say Tessa drafts “Dear Laura, I am writing to confirm that I will send over the revised quote at some point tomorrow. Kind regards” and you keep cutting it down to “Hi Laura, I'll send it tomorrow. Cheers”. After a few edits like that, her notes will read something like “casual, short sentences, friendly sign-off”, and the next drafts start out that way.
The same goes for priorities. If you always jump on emails from your main client's domain within minutes, they'll start arriving as high priority without you having to touch them.
What Tessa reads for each person stays private, your data is stored in the EU and nothing goes out without your approval.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to train Tessa?
No. She learns from what you already do: editing drafts, changing priorities and dismissing items. No forms to fill in, no samples to upload.
Can I see what she's learned?
Yes. Under “What Tessa did” you'll find your style notes, the switch to turn learning off and the button to forget everything.
Are my emails used to train AI models?
No. What Tessa learns is stored as notes on your account and added to your own requests. It isn't used to train general models.
How long before I notice?
Tessa updates your notes once she has a few new edits, so within your first days of use drafts should start sounding more like you.
Does she apply my style to my colleagues?
No. Everyone has their own learned style and priorities. Nothing of yours is applied to anyone else's drafts.
